Route Introduction

The Magical Mystery Tour

The Magical Mystery Tour is one of Summit's most beloved entry-level cave and corridor adventures — a perfect introduction to the hidden world inside Joshua Tree's granite formations, and an ideal choice for families, first-time cave explorers, and anyone looking for an accessible yet genuinely memorable day in the park.

The route begins with a series of fun, mostly spacious and open caves that ease you naturally into the terrain. There's no squeezing through tight passages right out of the gate — just wide, welcoming rock rooms that immediately make the experience feel playful and approachable.

From there the route rises to a scenic summit with expansive views across the boulder landscape before descending into a series of accessible slot canyons — fun, well-proportioned passages that feel adventurous without being intimidating.

The moment most guests cite as their favorite comes near the end: a natural rock slide tucked into the formation that delivers a burst of pure fun and sends everyone home with a story. For those who want to go further, rock climbing and rappelling add-ons are available along the route.
